Lead by example ensuring Aecon’s Environmental, Health and Safety Management System is adhered to.
Develop, submit and assess Health and Safety Plans, Environmental Construction Operating Plans, Quality Management Plans and Traffic Accommodation Strategies.
Responsible for the understanding and interpretation of project estimates.
Accurately interpret and comprehend contract drawings and specifications.
Prepare work schedules and coordinate project staff.
Provide onsite management of crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and all other resources to complete the job.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules
Ensure that contracts are kept current and updated with change orders on a regular basis.
Daily, Weekly, Monthly tracking and understanding of pay quantities and cost reports.
Chair meetings and lead discussions with defined outcomes.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her Supervisor.
Requirements
Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma / or equivalent training and experience.
A minimum of 3 years experience as a Project Manager, a combination of civil construction experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Engineer will be considered.
Familiar with the City of Calgary and surrounding area projects and specifications.
Experience with asphalt paving, concrete , earthworks and underground construction.
Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.
Strong communication skills – oral and written.
Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
Adaptable to work a flexible work schedule when required, including evenings, weekends and overtime as required.
Ability to work collaboratively with others.
Competent to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
Must comply with the company’s drug & alcohol program, including testing requirements.
Valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.
