Responsible for developing and executing commodity strategies that achieve quality, delivery, cost, and inventory targets within respective commodities.
Understand current market conditions, Geopolitical environment, and incorporate into commodity strategies to effectively mitigate supply chain risk.
Negotiates agreements with suppliers of assigned global commodities, ensuring that the best total cost is realized.
Manage the global supply base and incorporate supply chain management tools to continually improve supplier performance and drive internal efforts to resolve supplier issues.
Measure and track performance for each supplier category
Identify strong secondary sources for 80 parts
Build strong partnerships and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, engineering, quality, production, and other IDEX BUs/IDEX Office of Business Services.
Build strategic relationships with key suppliers and be proactive in managing the relationships to ensure no disruption in the supply chain, and ensure additional savings.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferably in a technical competency, minimum in a business/industrial related field
5 or more years of related experience in commodity management in a manufacturing environment with increasing responsibilities
Experience in iron casting, steel casting, and plastics preferred
Experience in managing a global supply base required
Demonstrated project management skills
APICS certification is a plus
Experience in a low-volume, high-mix, engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
Up to 25% travel required, if remote, up to 50% travel required
