Performs periodic process control and qualification tests on cable products to insure conformance to quality standards and customer requirements
Uses applicable test methods and inspection procedures
Performs physical tests on cables and components
Evaluates test results and trends, makes “pass or fail” decisions and initiates additional testing pursuant to failures
Utilizes test equipment such as tensile testers, micrometer, calipers and other precision measuring devices
Provide technical training as needed in topics of quality control and testing
Perform all tests and inspections within specified Routine Laboratory Test Duration Standards
Use computer software and applications to accurately document, record, and store all quality data resulting from product inspections, testing, and audits
Maintains laboratory records, inputs analytical data in quality record keeping system
Create, review, and certify product test data reports (CTR’s) for accuracy in a timely manner
Provide support to Product Development Engineers for trial testing and data collection during qualification and validation activities
Assist with traceability of test requirements in development of new product quality checks
Perform product data traces as needed using SAP
Assist UL inspector with all aspects of product inspections
Develop full understanding of ICEA sampling plans
Assist with cable repair assignments in locating cable defects and execution of rework activities
Must perform audits, raw materials inspections, in-process, and final inspection of products
Prepare, test, and measure product samples per standards for conformance to specifications
Evaluate and analyze results of product physical, electrical properties
Assist with initial investigation of customer returns, non-conformances, and material rejections.
Continually re-establish and maintain a safe, clean work environment in the physical test lab areas
Assist with the planning and restocking of laboratory equipment and test supplies
Develop knowledge of products, production, customer requirements, and manufacturing processes
Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment contributing to product quality
High school education or the equivalent
Career Readiness Certification required
Strong computer skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong technical aptitude to solve analytical problems
Strong math skills to perform mathematical calculations immediately as needed
Must demonstrate respect for safety and associated rules and regulations.
Must be a good listener, and clearly share understanding and ideas clearly verbally and in writing.
