Role Overview
- Conduct risk assessment and classification according to company standards
- Communicate and collaborate with sales colleagues and head office for competitive decisions
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners
- Deliver excellent customer experience in every interaction
- Comply with consumer laws regarding risk classification and confidentiality
- Identify and propose solutions to underwriting challenges
- Promote trust with clients to facilitate decision acceptance
Requirements
- Currently enrolled or interested in insurance-related courses (LOMA, ALU courses)
- Minimum 5 years professional experience as an underwriter
- Approval limit of at least $5,000,000 in life insurance
- Approval limit of at least $250,000 in critical illness insurance
- Knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, diseases, tests, and modes of treatment
- Awareness of industry trends
- Excellent analytical, mentoring, and customer service skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset
