Lead administration, configuration, and optimization of the University’s accounting system and related financial applications, including purchasing, budgeting, travel, student accounts, and fixed assets.
Participate in the evaluation, selection, implementation, and ongoing support of a replacement ERP system.
Ensure accounting systems support accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with GAAP.
Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and reporting tools to support leadership decision-making.
Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and reporting enhancements.
Serve as primary liaison between finance, IT, and system vendors for system upgrades, integrations, and issue resolution.
Support internal and external audits by ensuring accuracy and availability of financial system data and reports.
Assist with general ledger support, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
Collaborate with departments across the University to ensure financial systems meet institutional and operational needs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience managing and working with enterprise accounting systems (ERP platforms).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
Advanced proficiency with Excel and financial reporting tools.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
Experience with ERP implementations or system conversions (preferred).
Experience in higher education, healthcare, or nonprofit organizations (preferred).
Experience developing dashboards or modern financial reporting tools (preferred).
