First Line Manager – Death Claims

Role Overview

• Manage Business Unit & Business Unit Performance
• Manage Implementation of existing & new processes, services & procedures
• Manage Productivity, Quality & Work-related Problems
• Manage Department Budget
• Manage Staffing Process
• Manage Individual Training & Development
• Manage Individual Performance
• Accurate reporting
• Resolution of queries on financial reports, control and authorisation accounts
• Resolve audit findings
• Complaints investigation and resolution
• Recommendations regarding exceptional claims decisions in collaboration with death claims consultants and management
• Interaction with various departments in and outside of Business Transformation & Shared Services
• Ensure effective management of Service Level Agreements between BTSS, NUB, Distribution, Actuarial, Re-insurers, internal doctors
• Effective communication to respective role-players
• Focus and motivate team
• Effective Death Claims Production Centre management

Requirements

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and/or Accountancy
• Tertiary qualification
• Knowledge of the Individual Life Insurance processes and products
• Knowledge of death claims processes will be advantageous
• 3-5 years' leadership experience in managing a team of agents
• Impact of legislation, e.g. FICA, Pension Funds Act.
