Independently review, draft, and negotiate retail lease agreements, lease amendments, and related documents, including subordination & non-disturbance agreements, estoppel certificates, and commencement date agreements.
Manage lease related activities including responding to landlord requests, analyzing lease notices, and advising on lease enforcement issues.
Lead due diligence reviews of lease documents and real estate agreements for new and existing studio locations.
Partner closely with real estate, construction, facilities management, and operations teams to proactively identify and resolve lease and real estate matters.
Take on leadership responsibilities within cross-functional legal projects and initiatives, and serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders.
Requirements
5+ years of commercial real estate experience from a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
Deep knowledge of commercial leasing principles, landlord-tenant law, and retail real estate transactions.
Proven ability to independently manage a high-volume workload, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Strong business judgment and the ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice to non-legal partners.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across functions and seniority levels.
J.D. degree and member in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
