Provides leadership, direction, management and support for the Department’s Revenue Management Section
Supervises employees by communicating with, motivating, training, evaluating, planning, and directing employee’s work
Plans workloads, workflows, deadlines, objectives, and time utilization with employees
Evaluates, trains, and motivates subordinate employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed
Provides support in resolving problems, establishing work, and scheduling priority deadlines
Communicates on a regular basis with employees both individually and in staff meetings to provide feedback and motivation
Ensures billing to federal agencies for responsible grants are made timely and accurately
Reviews locally funded agreements and escrow agreements to ensure compliance with procedures
Ensures timely withdrawals from escrow accounts to reimburse Department expenditures on locally funded projects
Prepares the annual Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards and ensures the report is submitted to Department of Financial Services timely and accurately
Provides management and direction for daily cash management and investment activities
Requirements
Knowledge of current generally accepted accounting principles
Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards set by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB)
Knowledge of accounts receivable systems including invoicing, receipt processing, accounting, and internal controls
Knowledge of federal grants processes and accounting
Knowledge of State of Florida accounting applications
Skills in application of Governmental Accounting Standards set by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB)
Skills in analyzing processes to ensure they are performed efficiently and effectively
Ability to research, interpret, and apply accounting principles, laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, conveying ideas both verbally and in writing
Ability to lead, motivate, coordinate, and supervise the work of others
