Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
Perform P&L and balance sheet analysis, with a focus on operating costs and recoveries
Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled
Support annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes
Oversee AR and AP activities, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and payments
Monitor cash flow, prepare weekly AR and cash forecasts, complete bank and credit card reconciliations, process vendor payments, and follow up on overdue accounts
Manage regulatory filings and remittances, including GST/HST, WSIB, payroll taxes, T4s, and corporate tax, and liaise with the CRA as needed
Act as primary contact for external auditors, prepare supporting documentation, and evaluate internal controls to strengthen processes and mitigate risk
Assist Finance Manager in all aspects of Accounting and Finance as required
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation preferred)
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, and audit preparation
Proven experience leading or supporting an ERP implementation or system upgrade (required)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and regulatory compliance (GST/HST, payroll taxes, corporate tax, etc.)
Experience managing full-cycle accounting, including AR, AP, month-end close, and cash management
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, Sage 50) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP required)
Experience in a manufacturing or electronics environment is an asset
Experience with multi-entity operations and/or consolidated financial statements is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
