Lead and develop the People Operations team, setting a high bar for operational excellence, accountability, and service
Drive operational efficiencies across People systems and workflows, leveraging automation and AI to support rapid growth and scaling
Own HRIS strategy and systems architecture, including integrations, data governance, reporting infrastructure, and access controls to ensure reliable and scalable People data
Establish and maintain strong internal controls across People systems and processes, including employee data privacy, security, and audit readiness in partnership with IT and Legal
Evaluate the right timing and approach for migrating off a PEO and, when appropriate, lead a successful transition to a scalable in-house model
Own employment compliance across jurisdictions, including state registrations, regulatory requirements, and policy governance frameworks
Define and implement leave policies and ensure compliant administration
Oversee anonymous reporting systems and investigations infrastructure
Maintain and evolve our employee handbook and internal wiki, ensuring policies are clear, current, and well-governed
Lead visa and immigration operations and support global expansion, including international compliance and EOR oversight
Partner with Finance on payroll operations, including compensation operations governance, pay change controls, and accuracy of promotions, equity, and variable compensation processing
Own benefits selection, vendor strategy, and ongoing optimization
Operationally support employee lifecycle changes including new hire onboarding, role changes, promotions, compensation adjustments, organizational updates, and terminations
Requirements
10+ years of People Operations experience, including leading the function at a 500+ person technology company during rapid growth
Deep, practical expertise in U.S. employment compliance, multi-state operations, leave administration, immigration, and risk management
Experience evaluating and executing a migration off a PEO
Experience supporting international hiring and expansion, including EOR oversight
Strong ownership of HRIS strategy, systems architecture, integrations, and data governance
Track record of leading and developing high-performing People Operations teams
Ability to build scalable, automated processes, with a forward-thinking approach to leveraging technology and AI in high-growth environments
Builder mentality with a bias toward execution, willing to go deep in the details while maintaining high standards and operating with speed
Willing to work in-person 3+ days per week in San Francisco or New York
