About this role
Role Overview
Participate as an active member of the Regional Staff Development, IP&C team.
Work closely with others in infection control, health services and support programs in the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of IP &C strategies.
Assume responsibility for collaborative planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Regional IP&C program.
Function under the goals, objectives, core values and policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.
Include resource development with elements of research application and integration, and policy and procedure development as it relates to safe patient care.
Requirements
Minimum five (5) years full time nursing experience, including 2 years in IP&C.
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in adult education.
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificate in Infection Prevention & Control or willingness to acquire.
Current active practice registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
Canadian Safety Association (CSA) Standards Certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Knowledge of the principles of adult education, teaching and learning strategies.
Current knowledge in epidemiology, microbiology, statistics and infection control best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
Knowledge of policy development and implementation.
Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment that supports quality services/quality improvement and staff empowerment.
