About this role
Role Overview
Provides leadership for facility projects, and facility support organizations during implementation of facility changes, and other improvements including procedures (both maintenance and administrative).
Oversees safe maintenance activities for assigned facilities/areas in support of company objectives and mission.
Ensures facility requirements are met and all maintenance activities consider and adhere to applicable Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, DOE directives, and best management practices.
Provides clear lines of communication across departments and provides the interface necessary to ensure activities are progressing as scheduled.
Supports the Maintenance Director in all maintenance activities associated with the SWPF facility.
Assists the Maintenance Director with resources to ensure staffing and budget requirements are met.
Selects and qualifies maintenance personnel.
Enhances morale and performance of employees through effective coaching and leadership to increase productivity and efficiency.
Fosters an environment in which all work is performed utilizing DOE/INPO Conduct of Operations Standards and HPI tools within a Safety Conscious Work Environment.
Oversees departmental implementation of safety, training, environmental and quality programs.
Assists the Maintenance Director with the maintenance training program in accordance with the qualification plan to ensure personnel are trained and qualified to support milestones.
Assists the Maintenance Director in the interface and prompt response, resolution and closure of all compliance issues resulting from self-assessments and independent reviews by ORR, QA, DOE, DNFSB and other auditing groups.
Assists the Maintenance Director in the development and implementation of maintenance programs to ensure compliance with Conduct of Maintenance, DOE Order 430.1B
Requirements
BS in Engineering or Science (e.g. Physics, Chemistry)
progressive professional experience in engineering, maintenance and/or operations; or BS in a non-technical degree and progressive professional experience in engineering, maintenance and/or operations; or High School Diploma and progressive experience/secondary education in a technical, engineering or operations field
Experience must include a broad spectrum of maintenance work experiences.
This position falls under DOE Order 426.2 and must meet the education/experience requirements under the order.
