Apply Systems Engineering techniques to define, integrate and deliver whole system engineering solutions
Supporting requirements management and V&V activities, including: Developing of the Project’s requirements from the Client Remit and managing change.
Managing the satisfaction linkages between different levels of requirements.
Managing the apportionment of requirements into scope packages for delivery.
Supporting the project’s Verification of the requirements.
Supporting and undertaking the project’s Validation activities against the requirements.
Manage the periodic reporting of metrics.
Managing the integration of complex and novel interface areas – in particular between the infrastructure and rolling stock.
Managing the integration of infrastructure change with Operations and Maintenance organisations.
Supporting integration testing.
Produce and implement Systems Integration Plans (SIP), Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMP), and Safety, Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (S-RAM) Plans, support setting RAM targets.
Prepare and review technical reports and programmes of work.
Requirements
Developed experience and expertise in the application of systems engineering processes, probably gained in an engineer role or equivalent
Ideally experience across multiple domains, particularly the rail sector.
Demonstrable experience in the application and delivery of requirements management and V&V within major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
Experience using Bentley ComplyPro or IBM DOORS (desirable)
Proven track record in the delivery of engineering designs in a specific discipline with an innovative approach to solving client problems
Experience in understanding, interpreting and communicating the technical requirements of our contracts and, in particular, specifications and appropriate standards.
Experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects.
Knowledge across several infrastructure disciplines or reasonable experience in at least one specific discipline.
Professional registration at Incorporated or Chartered Engineer level.
Strong knowledge of design processes and procedures.
Thorough understanding of CDM regulations and the principles of ‘Safe by Design’, combined with strong knowledge of system safety and the application of the CSM-REA (desirable).
A solid grasp of engineering management practices for delivering multi-disciplinary railway infrastructure projects (desirable)
Working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels and maintaining a client-focused approach to service delivery.
Excellent communication skills, effectively engage with clients, suppliers, developers, and consultants, while demonstrating strong teamwork and a commitment to meeting strict deadlines.
