Develop commodity strategies with a strong focus on mechanical and electrical components including analyzing and developing sourcing strategies; spend analysis and supplier strategies.
Negotiate pricing, monitor performance to agreed terms and conditions, and manage supplier selection.
Collaborate with key suppliers to expand knowledge and identify opportunities for improvements.
Leverage supplier expertise and/or technology to harness improvements in reducing total costs.
Collaborate with procurement engineering and design engineering to find the best supplier.
Develop and negotiate contractual agreements to provide price protection and supply security.
Engage suppliers to provide long-term solutions to quality issues.
Monitor quality and delivery performance of key suppliers.
Develop supplier relationships resulting in optimized supply chain efficiencies and security of supply.
Requirements
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical components
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact with inter and intra departmental personnel, as well as management.
Strong computer skills
Successful experience in negotiating with senior level managers.
Demonstrated understanding of entire supply chain and cost drivers.
Demonstrated data and financial analysis capability.
Cross functional/organizational project management and facilitation skills (internal and external).
