Participate in geotechnical studies ranging from small
to large-scale projects
Carry out the placement of boreholes and logging of sondages
Supervise fieldwork, including drilling operations and various in-situ tests
Collect soil samples and describe their components in accordance with applicable standards
Perform various types of in-situ tests, such as shear strength tests, Lugeon tests, electronic piezocone (CPTu), etc.
Maintain the site log
Assemble and inspect equipment and ensure proper calibration
Contribute to technical reports, proposing clear, precise, and well-considered solutions
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in geological engineering or civil engineering with a geology focus
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Familiarity with the operation of the vane shear tester (scissomètre) and other in-situ tests
Familiarity with environmental sampling procedures for soil and groundwater
Fluency in French, both written and spoken
Completion of a program of study in geotechnical engineering
Master’s degree is an asset
Knowledge of GeoStudio and Settle3D software
Knowledge of English is an asset to facilitate collaboration with our teams outside Quebec or with our clients
Experience with geotechnical laboratory testing
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
ASP card
Willingness to travel to various sites across the province; enjoy working outdoors
