Systems Architect I

Role Overview

• Managing and overseeing the people, processes and technologies delivering Sanlam's Directory & Logical Access Platforms & Services
• Implementing and operating Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services in accordance with the business's reliability and capacity requirements
• Collaborating with stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, developers and architects to understand requirements and constraints
• Active engagement with technology partners to deliver an integrated solution across platforms
• Collaborating with Security Architecture for applicable Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services
• Designing and implementing procedures and best practices in Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services
• Being accountable for budgets, contracts and procurement of services and software applicable to Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services
• Researching and recommending policies and procedures to protect information assets from unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure
• Staying up to date with industry trends, technology, emerging threats, and best practices in Directory Services, Privileged Access, Cloud Identity, RBAC and security
• Appointing, developing, and retaining Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services talent
• Ensuring appropriate standards, patterns, best practices and operational maturity models are in place and monitored
• Mentoring team and internal stakeholders
• Overseeing Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services Product Development Lifecycle
• Continuously improving and refining processes, procedures and system development life cycle to deliver business value
• Implementing and maturing Agile and DevOps tooling and practices for the Directory and Logical Access Platforms and Services environment
• Prioritizing efforts with cross-functional teams

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in technology roles
• 5 years in solution architecture and systems design
• Experience leading and managing a team
• Experience working in a hybrid
• and multi-cloud environment (AWS preferred)
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification preferable
• Experience in cloud security concepts
• Experience operating and engineering solutions in a Cloud-focused organization
• Proven experience delivering and managing Directory & Logical Access Platforms & Services, Access Management & authorization solutions (RBAC, PBAC, ABAC, IDP), Identity Governance and/or Identity and Access Management technologies
• Proven experience delivering long-term, repeatable IaC solutions into an overall CI/CD process
• Proven experience deploying and configuring Cloud Services using Terraform
• Knowledge of JSON templates, PowerShell, CLI’s, Shell, Python
• Understanding of Cloud technologies and best practices, Networking in Public and Hybrid Cloud environments, Network protocols, network architecture and security
• Understanding of virtualization technologies, such as VMWare, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Understanding of Security Architecture concepts including encryption, authentication, database security, Identity Providers, Enterprise single sign-on (SSO), Federated SSO, multi-factor authentication, API security
