Work with project stakeholders and business partners to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the real needs for our Finance, Administration and Claims Systems.
Responsible to manage business expectations and advise, persuade and/or negotiate on problems, situations, or decisions of a simple to complex nature between stakeholders.
Serve as the liaison between customer community & software development teams.
Troubleshoot and analyze systems and code.
Investigate problems using logs, code analysis, and system behavior.
Work independently while collaborating with business and technical teams.
Participate in technical discussions, reviews, and troubleshooting sessions.
Manage multiple priorities, production incidents, and enhancement requests.
Support and maintain Oracle Forms applications.
Develop, optimize, and debug PL/SQL code.
Monitor and troubleshoot database performance and structures.
Create and maintain shell scripts for automation and system tasks.
Review and modify COBOL programs to support legacy environments.
Document systems, processes, and troubleshooting steps clearly.
Understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in related filed of study and/or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience in the IT industry, including 6–7 years in a Systems Analyst or similar technical role.
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues, investigate root causes, and drive solutions with minimal supervision.
Strong aptitude for reverse-engineering legacy code and understanding complex system interactions.
Comfortable working in environments with incomplete documentation, using logs, code analysis, and system behavior to diagnose problems.
Clear communication skills for translating technical findings into business‑friendly language.
Experience participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and cross‑team troubleshooting sessions.
Proven track record of owning problems end‑to‑end, from identification through resolution and follow‑up.
Comfort working in high‑availability, mission‑critical environments where accuracy and reliability are essential.
Extensive hands‑on experience maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting Oracle Forms applications in production environments.
Solid understanding of schemas, indexing strategies, performance tuning, query optimization, and database troubleshooting.
Proficiency with shell scripting (Bash, Korn, etc.) for automation, batch processing, and system integration tasks.
Ability to read, understand, and modify COBOL programs running on legacy systems, including batch job flows and data interfaces.
Experience with VUE.js for front‑end development or modernization of legacy interfaces will be considered an asset.
Familiarity with GitLab for version control, branching strategies, merge requests, and CI/CD pipelines will be considered an asset.
Exposure to API development or integration (REST, SOAP) is an asset.
