About this role
Role Overview
Create and deliver training that simplifies complex software concepts into clear, user-friendly learning experiences.
Design and develop in a variety of formats: mainly self-paced on demand courses, videos and job aids, but occasionally live webinars; record courses and videos
Develop assessment tools (e.g. tests) to evaluate participant comprehension
Utilize their knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theory to train business and software concepts effectively
Manage multiple projects effectively, work independently, perform under pressure and deliver high quality results on time
Access and use subject matter experts in other departments to determine content and scope of training
Incorporate instructional design process methodology: audience analysis, job tasks, storyboards, flowcharts, performance objectives, testing strategies, and learning activities
Utilize AI where appropriate in the design and development process
Participate in internal material reviews and internal pilot training sessions before distributing new learning content broadly
Deliver live webinars where appropriate
Continuously evaluate, enhance, and improve training materials
Look for opportunities to innovate processes, tools and training design
Actively contributing to and/or driving departmental meta work such as template designs, processes, and new training development tool evaluation
Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills including written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (instructional design, business, communications or related field preferred)
5-10 years’ experience as an instructional designer focused on eLearning required, preferably in the software industry
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of instructional design and adult learning theory, strategies, and techniques
Demonstrates native proficiency in both written and spoken English
Proficient in Articulate 360, Copilot, Camtasia, Snagit, Microsoft Office Suite and online collaboration software such as Teams (or equivalent webcast software)
Excellent project management skills
High motivation, ability to work independently, perform under pressure and deliver results on time
Excellent verbal, writing and composition skills, solid research and interviewing skills, and solid technical ability; must be able to communicate effectively with diverse learning audiences who will participate in training projects.
