Perform daily collections activities for the assigned portfolio
Liaise with external counsel regarding their client portfolios and client account balances
Call clients to collect payments; demonstrate a high level of professionalism and always work to maintain and, where appropriate, strengthen client relationships
Monitor activity in the assigned portfolio daily and review all applicable collections reports
Take steps to ensure payments are made in a timely manner
Assist in identifying and applying funds received by wire transfer, check, credit card, EFT, etc.
Resolve billing and payment application issues to facilitate the timely collection of outstanding accounts receivable
Identify potential default issues and report them to management
Follow up promptly on agreed payment arrangements
Participate in reconciling high-value and complex accounts and in managing balances that present high risk
Provide support to other members of the finance department as required
Participate in other special projects as needed
Requirements
Bilingual in English and French (written and spoken)
Three (3) years or more of experience in collections or accounting
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent
Prior experience with ARCS (accounts receivable management system) and/or Elite 3E preferred
Strong working knowledge of collections processes and procedures
Required mathematics and problem-solving skills
Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); excellent Excel skills
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Tact, discretion, judgment, and diplomacy when handling sensitive or confidential matters
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
