Collections Negotiator

Role Overview

• Contact delinquent customers to negotiate outstanding debts via phone, email, or digital channels;
• Issue and resend payment slips (boletos) and send collection letters, settlement agreements and related documents;
• Log all contacts and interactions in collection systems and control spreadsheets;
• Negotiate payment terms in accordance with company guidelines and the customer’s ability to pay;
• Monitor deadlines and due dates of agreements, flagging breaches or repeat defaults;
• Update customer records, review financial information and collect data to support collection efforts;
• Collaborate with legal and finance teams to formalize proposals and send documentation;
• Produce reports on collection performance and results for the portfolio under your responsibility;
• Contribute to continuous improvement of approaches and credit recovery strategies;
• Work with a focus on recovery targets and providing quality service to debtor customers.

Requirements

• Previous experience in judicial or extrajudicial collections, or similar activities;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Organized approach to recording and tracking information;
• Negotiation skills and ability to manage conflicts;
• Basic computer skills (Excel, internal systems, etc.).
