Serve as a fire protection lead engineer in a national company.
Communicate with fire protection engineering staff in multiple locations throughout the company.
Coordinate staffing efforts and team assignments.
Provide proposal/pricing assistance to Project Managers throughout the company.
Listen to our clients’ needs and independently provide value to them by evaluating options based upon the client’s needs and desires, first cost, and life cycle cost.
Communicate your design recommendations to our clients, project team, construction contractors, and vendors in presentations and meetings, via email and phone as necessary.
Work on a project team with other technical staff to design and detail new systems that are needed, assuring that the work is accurate and coordinated and that the quality assurance measures have been followed.
Participate in on-site observations, information gathering, and interactions with clients and contractors during the design and construction phases of the projects to represent Salas O’Brien in the field.
Design fire protection systems including standard wet systems, dry systems, specialty (preaction and/or dry chemical) systems, etc.
Develop system concepts, load analysis, equipment selection, system layout, and specification writing.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or related Science/Engineering Degree
10 or more years of experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred, but not required, to be in Fire Protection)
Experience with Revit.
Demonstrates a high standard of professionalism and client focus/customer service.
Resourceful and flexible.
Effective at handling multiple tasks.
Good computer skills.
Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
Able to effectively delegate or be delegated to while working in a collaborative format with multiple team members.
