Role Overview
- Play a key role in the financial close process, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end activities
- Responsible for posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and preparing financial reports and analyses
- Prepare and maintain schedules to track various costs and support the accurate posting of monthly journal entries
- Manage the monthly sales and use tax process
- Reconcile a variety of global Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts
- Investigate anomalies, identify root causes, and implement solutions
- Drive continuous improvement by supporting management initiatives
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of internal functions
- Review existing processes to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and accuracy
- Prepare analyses and reports for management to enable timely, data-driven decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting or finance experience; experience with accrued liabilities and/or indirect tax accounting is a plus
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification (preferred – not required)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work occasional extended hours during month-end and/or quarter-end close periods
- Demonstrated ability to gather information from diverse sources and ensure its accuracy
- Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively take initiative on projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to lead cross-functional activities with support and service groups
