About this role
Role Overview
Take functional ownership of the existing Odoo ERP environment.
Ensure ERP processes are correctly configured and operational across finance and operations modules.
Oversee automation workflows and ensure structured daily data input discipline.
Maintain system integrity without engaging in software development.
Identify inefficiencies and implement pragmatic process improvements.
Oversee expense management and financial discipline.
Manage and supervise bank reconciliations.
Ensure purchasing processes are properly recorded and controlled.
Validate stock valuation and inventory accounting accuracy.
Ensure compliance with OHADA accounting standards (multi-country context; not primary challenge but must be managed correctly).
Stabilize internal finance processes after recent external accountant exit.
Implement structured internal controls appropriate for a sub-$1M revenue operation.
Support manufacturing and daily driver operational accounting.
Ensure clean financial data for reporting and decision-making.
Primary focus: Senegal entity (approx. 60 employees, 25 customers, 250 suppliers).
Secondary support: Côte d’Ivoire operations (early-stage setup).
Requirements
Proven experience as Interim Controller, Finance Manager, or Fractional CFO in SME industrial or manufacturing environments.
Strong hands-on experience managing ERP systems (Odoo strongly preferred; exposure to SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or similar complex systems beneficial).
Demonstrated ability to stabilize underperforming or poorly managed ERP environments.
Experience in multi-country African operations advantageous.
Familiarity with OHADA accounting standards preferred.
Operational (not developer) ERP expertise.
Strong knowledge of: Expense management, Bank reconciliations, Purchasing controls, Inventory and stock valuation, Management reporting.
Ability to oversee automation workflows and ensure process reliability.
Structured, disciplined, and detail-oriented.
Strong process governance mindset (“dots the i’s and crosses the t’s”).
Pragmatic and operationally hands-on.
Comfortable working in SME environments with limited structure.
Confident and direct communicator capable of imposing financial discipline where needed.
Should be comfortable getting their hands dirty.
