About this role
Role Overview
Provide technical support for climate risk assessments
Support modeling physical climate risks for various asset portfolios
Quantify benefits of adaptation measures for resilience planning
Address areas such as coastal protection, risk assessment, stormwater management, groundwater, benefit-cost analysis, environmental and social impact analysis
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of planners, engineers, scientists, economists, policy experts, etc.
Review and synthesize academic and peer-reviewed research on climate impacts
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Identify cost-effective, technically feasible, and environmentally sound resilience actions
Participate in client and project development, assist with proposals and marketing materials
Requirements
1-5 years’ experience of research or professional experience in Climate Resilience.
Bachelor of Science in Climate Sciences, Urban Planning, Economics, Public Policy, Engineering, Geology, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
Familiarity with statistical analysis including descriptive statistics, probability theory, and regression analysis.
One or more of the following:
o Experience interpreting or working with IPCC Global Climate Models or other regional climate data products (e.g. CalAdapt, EPA Climate Indicators)
o Proficiency with Python, R, or related coding languages
o Proficiency with ESRI GIS software, specifically ArcGIS Pro
o Experience with dashboarding software such as PowerBI, Tableau, or KQL
Experience working in climate change impact analysis, adaptation planning, or the flood risk resilience fields
