Head of Solution Architecture

Role Overview

• Own end-to-end Solution Architectures & Designs that are fit for purpose, maintainable, and aligned to enterprise standards
• Capability to manage a team of Solution Architects
• Mentor and develop solution architects, technical architects, and engineering leads within the domain
• Provide solution architecture / design services in support of prioritised business demand
• Ensure solutions align to enterprise architecture roadmap, technology strategy, and business outcomes
• Work with development functions, business lines, product teams and Technology function stakeholders to derive the technology future state and roadmaps
• Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies
• Actively contribute to owning and designing governance, assurance, standards and policy that form part of the architectural governance process with a view to improving design quality
• Lead and contribute to the Global Computershare Design Community, providing guidance, facilitating collaboration and clear communication across the organisation
• Define high-level transition plans to address the gaps between current and future state in line with IT budgeting and planning processes
• Lead on the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
• Understand the current state environment in terms of technology, risk, end of life and technical debt
• Evaluate, recommend, and govern third-party products, platforms, and vendor relationships from a technical perspective

Requirements

• Significant experience within a complex enterprise context and with architectures spanning multiple technologies
• Expert experience of design and implementation of a diverse range of business applications across multiple channels
• Experience of design and implementation of public Cloud (e.g. Azure) applications and services
• Experience of working with technology vendors
• Experience of creating application migration strategies, enabling transition away from legacy technologies
• Track record of architecting modern platforms using APIs, EAI, ETL and web services
• Experience of leading the design and architecture of a large technology project
