Feeds into Retail Demand Planning process, making sure retail feedback on product opportunities and department ranging needs are being met
Regularly looking for ways to improve the processes and systems we use for allocations, suggesting improvements where necessary
Planning weekly volumes from the DC into stores, feeding into the supply chain meetings
Manages the flow of stock at both peak season and new season launch, taking manual control of the picking if necessary
Profiles all branches in the region every 6 months, ensuring the range we send is appropriate for the market
Responsible for management of the allocators, ensuring option depths are being set correctly.
Manages the allocation strategy for the region, including when we launch new season stock and when we switch off replenishment
Plans and executes the opening of new stores, ensuring to follow up and review performance post opening
Seizes market opportunities, communicates to retail and demand planning where there are ways for a region or category to make more money
Front foot communication to retail at all times, ensuring the market are clear what the business priorities are and what we are doing to trade the region
Ensures retail requests are dealt with and responded to in a timely manner
Trades the retail stock pot
the trading manager is responsible for stock once it hits our DC, selling through to optimise profit within agreed life cycles.
Identifies reactive promotion needs, either for a region or a department to deal with pockets of stock.
Ensures stock levels for upcoming promotions are correct and managed once the promotion ends
Works with the Online merchandising team to trade stock between channels
Pushes retail on products that aren't moving and suggests branch to branch transfers if necessary
Works with Demand Planning team if DC stocks are insufficient for store needs
The key point of contact in head office for Retail for product/stock related issues
Ensures optimal availability for territory launches and events
