About this role
Role Overview
Responsible for performing detailed tasks associated with designing and preparing plans and specifications for highway facility improvements.
Ensures that plans prepared are accurate, complete, and in compliance with design standards and specifications or acceptable variations and represent the most cost-efficient design.
Supervises, trains, and motivates subordinate personnel on a seasonal basis.
Coordinates the activities with other sections within the bureau and other bureaus within the district to ensure that studies and plans are completed in time to meet prescribed time schedules.
Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules.
Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering or a job related technical/science curriculum PLUS five years of engineering experience; OR Seven years of engineering experience.
Valid driver’s license.
District-wide travel.
Successful completion of a background screening.
