Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of fixed asset data used in Property Tax Management Systems (PTMS) and other tax reporting tools, including managing data imports.
Develop, analyze, and interpret business personal property tax reports using advanced data analytics tools.
Apply data analytics techniques to uncover insights, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making.
Gather, extract, and manipulate fixed asset, inventory, and supply data from ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle, PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards.
Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts to the general ledger.
Reconcile property tax accrual and expense accounts.
Analyze data to identify opportunities for tax savings, including cost segregation strategies to reduce property tax valuation.
Support property tax compliance activities, including valuation reviews, inventory valuation, reporting strategies, and audit management.
Perform technical tax analysis, prepare supporting documentation, and assist in developing audit defense strategies.
Review tax returns, tax bills, and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience in property tax or related disciplines.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field preferred.
Professional certifications such as CPA or CMI preferred.
High proficiency in Excel and data analysis techniques.
Experience with property tax compliance systems (e.g., PTMS) and major ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, NetSuite, or S/4HANA.
