About this role
Role Overview
Responsible for the planning and execution of events that build brand, engage audiences and increase fundraising opportunities.
Lead end-to-end planning and execution of fundraising and stewardship events to increase brand awareness, grow supporter audiences, secure sponsorships, and maximize donation revenue.
Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies that drive sponsorship acquisition, ticket sales, participation, and full funding of events.
Oversee all event logistics—including venue selection, registration, accommodations, A/V, creative design, and on-site production—to ensure seamless execution on time and on schedule.
Manage event budgets, track expenses, and secure approvals to deliver high-impact events within financial targets.
Collaborate cross-functionally with territorial, national marketing, communications, and operations teams to ensure brand consistency and operational alignment.
Create and maintain national tools, templates, deliverables matrices, and best-practice frameworks to support local and peer-to-peer fundraising events.
Coordinate and support event planning committees, volunteers, vendors, and third-party fundraisers to strengthen community engagement and drive repeat participation.
Cultivate relationships with sponsors, vendors, attendees, and past fundraisers to enhance stewardship, retention, and long-term partnership growth.
Track, analyze, and report on event performance using data, analytics, and feedback to inform continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
Maintain accurate records, standardized processes, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with timelines, national frameworks, and territorial objectives.
Requirements
Completion of a formal post-secondary/ college diploma in events management; an alternative level of education and experience will be considered.
Minimum 3-5 years professional experience in special events and special event marketing.
Strong event performance measurement skills
Experience with event planning and logistics
Proven ability to lead and develop a team of volunteers and staff in the planning and execution of events.
Creative and able to produce well thought out special event plans and projects.
Strong word processing and publishing computer skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
High standards of integrity, judgment, and confidentiality
Proven oral and written communication ability
Ability to and willingness to work in a consultative, diplomatic manner
Detail-oriented, organized, confident, and self-directed
Ability to and willingness to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings
Ability and willingness to be flexible to work hours outside of regular work hours/schedule to accommodate events.
