About this role
Role Overview
Lead and supervise the operations group at assigned sites
Deliver operational and financial results in accordance with budgeting commitments
Merge routine operations with asset management responsibilities
Optimize financial results while meeting safety and environmental objectives
Develop and reinforce DTE’s Service Keys: Safe, Caring, Dependable, Efficient
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Develop an employee culture conducive to a healthy work/life balance
Operate and maintain a DOT regulated pipeline
Participate in and direct day-to-day operation and maintenance activities
Ensure facility is operated in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
Support the annual O&M budget development with the Plant Manager
Control expenditures to ensure costs remain within budget
Prepare periodic status reports on operating performance
Implement a planned maintenance program
Conduct periodic training for all plant personnel in appropriate topics
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 5 years progressive experience in a gas processing facility, power generation, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment
Supervisor or managerial experience preferred
Understanding of the operation and maintenance of plant equipment
Working knowledge of process equipment and systems
Understanding of energy efficiency practices and energy conservation techniques
Knowledge of the regulatory processes under which the facility operates
Strong organizational skills
Problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management clearly
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
Familiarity with email, scheduling, time reporting software applications
Proven ability to complete tasks, assignments, and projects without significant supervision
General understanding of income statements and the fiscal impact of operational and maintenance decisions
