Support UK corporation tax compliance and reporting, including analysis of controlled foreign companies, group relief, capital allowances, R&D tax credits, and corporate interest restriction
Assist with corporation tax year-end work for Group reporting requirements
Help with quarterly VAT reviews and indirect tax compliance
Support on employment tax matters, including PAYE Settlement Agreements and Short-Term Business Visitors
Assist with international tax matters such as withholding tax clearances, Pillar 2, and related analysis
Contribute to tax governance processes, including Senior Accounting Officer and Corporate Criminal Offence requirements
Prepare tax code reconciliations and supporting schedules
Requirements
A genuine interest in developing across different areas of tax — corporate, VAT, employment, and international
Strong attention to detail and a diligent, thorough approach to your work
Comfortable working with data in Microsoft Excel — including reviewing, reconciling, and analysing
Able to manage a varied workload and juggle different deadlines
Clear, concise written communication — you can make complex tax issues understandable to non-tax colleagues
Proactive and collaborative — you take initiative, but you're also a great team player
Happy to ask questions when you're unsure, and open to feedback and guidance
Able to build positive working relationships across the business
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Some basic accounting knowledge
Any previous exposure to tax, even in an academic context
Familiarity with AlphaTax software
