Senior Application Developer, 80–100%

Role Overview

• Analyze and gradually re-develop existing COBOL programs into Java, adhering to modern architecture principles
• Carry out small development tasks and continuously enhance existing applications
• Develop and implement customer-specific customizations and extensions
• Apply secure development practices (e.g., OWASP, code reviews, threat modeling) to ensure secure and robust software solutions
• Build, maintain and evolve automated tests (unit, integration and end-to-end tests) to ensure software quality
• Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions and processes

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in a comparable role with a focus on software development and system migration in the banking sector
• Strong knowledge of Java and experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Solid experience with database queries (e.g., SQL)
• Knowledge of COBOL, RPG and CL is an advantage
• Very good German or English language skills (level C1/C2)
