Perform professional-level human resources functions including administering recruitment, assisting with onboarding, and processing transaction functions
Serve as point of contact for Human Resources related inquiries and requests
Serve as Group Insurance Preparer (GIP)
Serve as Worker's Compensation Coordinator
Keyboards and submits forms required for background investigations of applicants, employees, and service providers
Serves as State Employee's Retirement System (SERS) coordinator at facility
Provide advice and interpretation and instruction to staff as to Human Resources procedures, eligibility for examinations, career development, tuition reimbursement, upward mobility, leaves of absence, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other employee concerns and issues
Maintain files of employee job descriptions
Perform other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requirements
Completion of four (4) years of college
One (1) year of professional experience, preferably in human resources, or satisfactory completion of an approved training program
Prefer at least two (2) years of experience working with the Personnel Code, Rules, Position Classification Plan, and Pay Plan
Prefer at least one (1) year of experience using electronic hiring processes within Success Factors or an equivalent software program
Prefer at least (2) years of experience implementing and interpreting bargaining unit contracts and language as it relates to filling of vacancies
Prefer at least one (1) year of experience compiling bid records to determine order of selection within state government
Prefer at least two (2) years of experience using Microsoft Word and/or equivalent software program
Prefer at least two (2) years of experience using Adobe and/or related software program
Prefer the ability to read and assimilate information and data and recall with a reasonable degree of proficiency, facts, and figures
Prefer the ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
