Preparing design drawings utilizing Civil 3D tools and performing complex tasks including set-up, alignments, profiles, sections, corridors and pipe networks
Complete error-free intermediate-level design calculations and/or verify design calculations prepared by team members
Ensuring quality control procedures are completed as per Binnie’s Professional Practice Management Plan
Preparing documentation for design folders and reports
Calculating design quantities for materials and preparation of cost estimates
Prepare complex quantity take-offs, construction specifications, cost estimates and technical reports under the supervision of the EOR
Performing on-site inspection duties as needed
Requirements
A minimum of 6-13+ years of experience on projects in a civil consulting engineering environment for Technologist role
Previous experience working in transportation or highway engineering environment is preferred
Degree or Diploma in engineering technology or equivalent from an accredited institution
Eligible for future registration as a Registrant with ASTTBC or as a Technician/Technologist with ASET
Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle for site visit preferred
Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or other applicable software used in their area of practice
Strong understanding of terminology and application of CAD standards
Excellent organization and time management skills
