Collaborate with the Digital Media Specialist to plan and film major Campus Media video initiatives (e.g., Welcome Week, Homecoming, Presidential elections, Light Up The Night, Supercrawl, and other key events).
Assist with shot planning, equipment setup, and on-location production logistics.
Capture high-quality video and audio content consistent with Campus Media branding and editorial standards.
Edit short
and long-form video content, including takeovers, “Sil in the Streets,” explainers, promotional pieces, and recap videos.
Incorporate captions, graphics, music, and branding elements appropriate for each platform.
Optimize video formatting for platform-specific requirements (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
Schedule and publish video content across Campus Media social media platforms.
Draft concise, engaging captions aligned with Campus Media voice and standards.
Ensure accessibility standards are met (e.g., captioning and readable on-screen text).
Track performance metrics including reach, engagement, growth, and watch time.
Prepare and submit a monthly analytics report to Campus Media leadership.
Provide data-informed recommendations to strengthen video strategy and audience growth.
Assist in training and onboarding volunteer video journalists.
Provide on-location support and technical troubleshooting when required.
Promote best practices in filming, editing, and multimedia storytelling.
Requirements
Sustained attention to detail in video editing, branding consistency, captioning, and content accuracy.
Ability to manage concurrent projects and meet firm deadlines, particularly during high-volume event periods.
Proficiency in video production and editing software (rudimentary experience with Adobe Premiere Pro is required).
Strong understanding of short-form video strategy and platform optimization (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).
Ability to interpret social media analytics and translate performance data into strategic recommendations.
Working knowledge of camera operation, lighting, framing, and audio capture.
Strong visual storytelling skills and attention to branding consistency.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively within a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
