About this role
Role Overview
- Provide technical expertise and support in the materials and process engineering of cast products.
- Collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
- Participate in all phases of product development and will be a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers.
- Support for materials and processes involved in the design and manufacture of cast parts.
- Regular interaction with suppliers to help resolve issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
- 4 or more years of experience in materials/process engineering in the casting industry.
- 4 or more years experience with nickel, aluminum, steel, and/or titanium aerospace cast alloys
- Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in Materials Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Advanced degree in engineering or another related field a plus
- Understanding and hands-on experience in casting (Investment/sand casting production processes are a plus)
- Familiarity with industrial materials and processing specifications
- Familiarity with Nadcap and industry standards, requirements and approvals
- Capable of assessing new suppliers and determining their strengths and weaknesses
- Experience with conducting casting supplier audits (investment castings, and sand casting audits are a plus)
- Working with and developing suppliers
- Working with Design Engineering
- Understanding engineering drawings and requirements
- Experience in Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement tools
