Manages the Stock & Service team of lens technicians, including training / development, team support, accountability, and performance review
Oversees the email template system to provide transparent communication to the field teams and address problems with orders
Ensures lens room production targets are met or exceeded
Sets the Stock & Service teams processes, policies, and procedures for pulling correct lenses for work orders, including situations when optically viable substitutions are necessary.
Partners with Supply Chain LP and the Central Lab Manager to maintain lens inventory, ordering, cycle counting, and best LP practices
When necessary, identifies jobs requiring cancellation in an expeditious matter, providing prompt feedback to the ordering site
Serves as the on-site contact for LMS and printer needs
Tracks trends in workload and identifies service level gaps
Identifies and expedites languishing work
In collaboration with other Central Lab Managers, contributes to the continuous improvement of lab operations via team meetings and emailed feedback
Receives and performs additional relevant tasks from Central Lab Manager and Vice President of Lab Operations
Requirements
5-10 years optical experience
Advanced optical knowledge for coaching and troubleshooting purposes
