Requirements
Degree qualified in civil engineering (BE/B. Tech./ME/M. Tech./ MSc or equivalent)
M.Tech or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Rock and Underground Structures, or a related field
Up to 4 years of experience in underground structural / Tunnelling / Deep excavation / geotechnical works
Experience in and a commitment to effective management of Health, Safety and Welfare, Safety by Design
Demonstrable experience in Geotechnical analysis, design and assessment including an ability to undertake and oversee the modelling and analysis of soil structure interaction for diaphragm walls , pile foundation, ground improvement , deep excavation using standard industry software, such as, PLAXIS 2D/3D, MIDAS GTS NX, LPile, Rocscience, DeepEx, GeoStudio, RS2/RS3, or similar
Preparation technical approval documentation for highway, Tunnelling, Deep excavation and rail structures from Geotechnical Point of view
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and new technologies
Perform advanced geotechnical analyses, including finite element analysis and modelling, limit equilibrium and soil-structure interaction analysis for tunnel linings, retaining systems, deep foundations (well, pile, Diaphragm Wall, barrette), and ground improvement
Proficient with construction stage analysis for underground structure and deep excavation
Understanding the use of Geotechnical Investigation report and experienced to suggest Geotechnical Investigation requirements
Experienced in preparation of Geotechnical Interpretative Report
Providing recommendations based on the report as bearing capacity, pile capacity, soil springs etc.
Ability to deliver high quality design documentation including option appraisals, drawings, calculations, reports, specifications and construction documentation from Geotechnical Point of view
An excellent understanding of relevant international standards (e.g. Eurocodes, AASHTO, etc.)
General IT software skills, such as, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, ProjectWise, Bentley and Autodesk software
Experience of digital delivery tools and workflows, for example BIM, parametric design and automation
Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with all levels of staff and clients (written and verbal)
