Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Role Overview

• Performing day-to-day operational/DevOps tasks on Wikimedia’s public-facing infrastructure
• Implementing and utilizing configuration management and deployment tools
• Leading continuous improvement by automating installation and maintenance of services
• Collaborating with product teams for scalable functionality
• Participating in 24/7 on-call rotation
• Mentoring peers in technical and operational areas

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in an SRE/Operations/DevOps role as part of a team
• Experience with shell and any scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash, Ruby)
• Experience with distributed caching systems
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, and DNS
• Experience with package management on Linux systems
• Strong Linux troubleshooting skills
• History of automating tasks and processes
• Strong English language skills
