About this role
Role Overview
You will be a core technical leader and key strategist, responsible for defining, designing, and overseeing the implementation of enterprise data architectures.
You will work at a strategic level with business leaders, data engineering teams, data scientists, and other stakeholders.
Design and define the architectural direction of data systems, including the selection of technologies and platforms.
Lead the design of complex enterprise data models and the data governance strategy.
Define and oversee the implementation of next-generation data platforms for Big Data.
Define and audit data quality and governance policies.
Mentor technical leaders and high-potential talent in data engineering.
Articulate complex technical data strategies to executive and non-technical audiences.
Troubleshoot the most complex problems in distributed data systems.
Develop new models and process frameworks for large-scale data engineering.
Requirements
Substantial and demonstrable experience designing and implementing complex enterprise data architectures (data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, data meshes, streaming architectures) in large-scale environments.
Expert experience with a broad range of data technologies, including relational and NoSQL databases, Big Data processing tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink), cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their data services such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, S3.
Extensive experience in dimensional data modeling, Big Data modeling, and designing schemas optimized for analytics and performance.
Proven track record of leading technical teams, defining technical direction, and mentoring senior and high-potential engineers.
Deep knowledge and experience implementing data governance frameworks, data quality practices, and metadata management.
Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership, and to influence strategic decision-making.
Strong ability to analyze complex technical and business problems and develop innovative, effective architectural solutions.
Strong understanding of how data solutions impact business objectives and the ability to translate business requirements into data architectures.
Ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
