Serving as a trusted advisor on data governance, metadata management, and modern data platform security
Leading stakeholder alignment to ensure governance models are understood and adopted across business, IT, data owners, and compliance teams
Translating governance strategies into practical, actionable solutions tailored to client maturity and culture
Supporting pre-sales and advisory phases, including assessments, roadmap creation, and solution design
Designing and implementing Microsoft Purview-based governance solutions, such as unified data catalogs, metadata models, lineage, and sensitivity labelling, while advising on metadata structure and quality
Advising on data platform architectures to ensure data assets are cataloged, traceable, and easily understood, embedding governance in everyday delivery
Establishing end-to-end data lineage, advising on data quality, and helping clients measure and improve metadata health and governance maturity
Actively contributing to the commercial service development with professional insights and best practices to Columbus’s governance offerings
Requirements
Senior-level experience as a consultant or specialist in data governance, analytics platforms, or data management
Proven experience with: Data governance frameworks and operating models
Metadata management and data catalogs
Data lineage, data mapping, and documentation
Experience working across multiple stakeholders and organizational layers
Hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Purview Data Governance, including Unified Catalog and Data Map
Ability to combine technical depth with strong communication and facilitation skills
Driven by curiosity and an ongoing commitment to learning, especially in the evolving Microsoft data landscape.
