Director of Environmental, Regulatory Compliance

Role Overview

• Lead Northstar’s regulatory risk strategy across the vendor network
• Design risk-based ranking system to assess outlet compliance risk
• Develop formal risk escalation protocols and present compliance risk assessments to leadership
• Build and maintain compliance governance model aligning audit activity with commercial strategy
• Design a scalable compliance program maximizing risk visibility and mitigation
• Advise senior leadership on regulatory trends and operational impact
• Serve as the lead expert on environmental regulations
• Interpret evolving regulatory requirements into actionable business guidance

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in environmental or regulatory compliance within Waste & Recycling industry
• Deep expertise in RCRA hazardous waste regulations
• Strong working knowledge of DOT, FSMA, FDA, and state regulations
• Proven experience building risk-based evaluation or compliance frameworks
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
• Strong strategic thinking and business acumen
• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear business guidance
