Supports oversight and management of compliance with the Authority’s environmental commitments
Assist with construction-phase compliance reporting
Evaluate contractors for conformance to federal, state, and local regulatory standards
Conducting inspections of active construction sites
Reviewing document submittals and correspondence
Verifying that the EMMA database is being used correctly
Evaluating completed sites to confirm accuracy of compliance reporting
Assessing and supporting the development of training programs and training records
Evaluate project activities and documentation for compliance with applicable state and federal environmental laws and regulations
Act independently and as part of a multidisciplinary compliance team to ascertain compliance and recommend appropriate action
Assist with the development of findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to ensure continued compliance and address compliance deficiencies
Provide technical assistance to ensure continued permit compliance and address noncompliance
Coordinate the development of written procedures and reporting
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, biology, or related field and 5-7 years of relevant experience
Experience implementing compliance programs and monitoring environmental compliance on large construction projects
Expertise in areas that align with biological resources/species and habitat protections
Experience with construction compliance in the field
Familiarity with state and federal environmental laws and regulations (e.g., National Environmental Policy Act [NEPA], California Environmental Quality Act [CEQA], Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 7 of the federal Endangered Species Act, Section 2081 of the California Endangered Species Act, and Section 1600 of the California Fish and Game Code)
Ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities
Experience working on large, complex environmental compliance programs
