Provide quality high volume customer service transactions at the Personal Property Tax Counter on behalf of the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the Commissioner of Revenue.
Deliver a suite of DMV services that includes vehicle registration (new, renewals, transfers), titling, tax and fee collection on these services, motor carrier services, license plate issues and orders, and other related transactions.
Perform work in accordance with the rules and regulations of the state and the policies and procedures of the Office of the Commissioner of Revenue.
Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent: plus
Some progressively responsible experience in tax preparation or tax assessments (including at least 6 months of DMV Select training within the Office of the Commissioner of Revenue or similar office in Virginia), and customer service in the public sector; OR
Some experience at a full-service DMV in the United States; OR
Some experience at a DMV Select in Virginia.
Additional education may be substituted for experience.
Knowledge and familiarity of the codes, laws, regulations, and policies pertinent to business tax licensing;
Interpersonal and problem-solving skills to explain rules and procedures clearly;
Ability to use computer programs and applications to complete work.
