Role Overview
- Develop CNC programs using CAD/CAM software for complex parts and components.
- Review blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Choose the appropriate tools and machines for each job.
- Test programs directly on the machine and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve critical process issues and implement process improvements.
- Maintain records and documentation related to machine specifications and programming notes.
- Ensure compliance with safety rules and workplace regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or technical high school diploma in mechanical, mechatronic or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience with CNC machines and proficiency in CAM software.
- Knowledge of Fusion 360 is considered a plus.
- Certifications in CNC programming can enhance job prospects.
- Willingness to stay updated with new software, training and process technologies.
- Strong proficiency in blueprint reading and technical drawing interpretation.
- Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Experience with boring machines and machining centers for large cast-iron workpieces.
- Experience in turning operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and machinists.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- English language proficiency (written and spoken): B1/B2.
