Plans and develops research programs within a division, center, or department, solicits research opportunities, develops policies and procedures, and has significant responsibility for the overall functioning and effectiveness of research studies.
Overseeing all Center efforts in the area of project team consilience facilitation and research into the science of team science.
Coordinate with APPEX and SMNS leadership to ensure that all research, training, and outreach teams are working together effectively towards stated goals
Provide support to APPEX researchers and affiliates to help teams identify goals and overcome barriers arising from interpersonal and interdisciplinary challenges
Provide information, problem-solving assistance, and resources to APPEX members regarding Center efforts, practices, resources, opportunities, and standards
Develop and implement procedures and resources to improve team consilience
Coordinate and collaborate with other staff and Center members/leadership to prepare reports for management and funders
Designs and provides expert direction in our research into best practices in team science
Leads in the preparation of documents, materials, and research products relating to consilience and the science of team science
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field including two (2) years managerial experience
Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
A doctorate degree in a field relevant to the science of team science (e.g. Psychology, Social work, organizational management, etc.)
A track record of successful academic publication
Experience in roles focused on team support and consilience-focused leadership
Experience in developing materials in support of consilience and team science efforts and providing support in delivering those materials for use
Experience with Human Subjects Experimentation guidelines and IRB review protocols
Demonstrated knowledge of Center organizational practices
Experience working in higher education
Evidence of effective communication skills
Strong decision-making skills, including exercising sound judgment and prioritization of workload
Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
