The GMS Cost Estimator assembles and analyzes data to forecast profit and loss related to healthcare services, projects, or operational changes
Key responsibilities include cost analysis and forecasting, collaboration with stakeholders, cost management, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulations, and statutes.
Analyzing available documentation to understand scope, identifying cost-influencing factors, and using historical data, trends, and research for accurate projections
Working with project teams and stakeholders, managing bids from vendors, and presenting detailed cost models and analyses to management and clients
Evaluating cost alternatives and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Assisting with regulatory compliance, including cost transparency requirements, and maintaining cost databases and documentation
Additional and separate responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate.
Requirements
Requires a University Degree
Minimum 4-6 years of prior relevant experience; some roles may require graduate-level education Master’s or Doctorate degree
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
3 years in cost estimation techniques, modeling, and financial analysis
Advanced Excel knowledge
Familiarity with industry software and databases
Healthcare revenue cycle knowledge
Experience with revenue cycle managed services or advisory services
