Perform engineering design tasks for highway, municipal roadway, some rail and potentially intermodal/port projects from preliminary to final design
Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
Maintain and establish working relationships with regulatory agencies, local government, GDOT and state clients, as well as private clients
Provide engineering design services for traditional design-bid-build and design-build highway projects
Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans, including but not limited to implementation and knowledge of cross sections, traffic control, drainage, and signing and pavement markings plans
Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers
Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance
Identify schedule and cost variances and develop and implement recommendations for corrective action
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation related engineering degree; required
6-10 years of experience in transportation engineering design projects; required
Professional Registration (PE) in Georgia or the ability to gain through reciprocity within 6 months of start position; required
3+ years of experience in OpenRoads design; required
A motivated self starter who is a team player and has the desire to continue to learn and grow while mentoring Jr. Engineers
