Role Overview
- Take a central role in designing and implementing security-relevant components within Managed Services
- Develop and maintain Key Management Systems (KMS) with KMIP interfaces, including client and server logic
- Implement KMIP operations such as Create, Register, Get, Locate, Destroy, Encrypt/Decrypt, Sign/Verify
- Analyze, parse, and produce KMIP messages (TTLV, and optionally JSON)
- Manage different object types such as Symmetric Keys, Public/Private Keys, Certificates, Templates, and Secret Data
- Integrate and configure KMIP clients in applications such as databases, storage systems, and application servers
- Establish and maintain TLS-secured connections (including mutual TLS and client certificates) between the KMS and KMIP clients
Requirements
- Solid experience programming Key Management Systems (KMS) or other security-related systems
- Practical experience with KMIP interfaces (client and/or server implementation)
- Knowledge of KMIP operations (Create, Register, Get, Locate, Destroy, Encrypt/Decrypt, Sign/Verify) and their associated data structures
- Experience parsing and generating KMIP messages (e.g., TTLV, optionally JSON) and mapping them to internal data models
- Experience managing and maintaining object attributes (Key Usage, State, Cryptographic Algorithm, Cryptographic Length, Activation/Deactivation Dates)
- Familiarity with handling various cryptographic object types (Symmetric Keys, Public/Private Keys, Certificates, Templates, Secret Data)
- Strong experience with TLS, certificates, and mutual TLS (including establishing and maintaining secure connections between KMS and clients)
- Experience in security engineering, particularly in designing and implementing PKI infrastructures
- Strong security awareness and high-quality standards when implementing security-critical components
- Analytical, structured, and meticulous working style, especially when handling security-critical systems and cryptographic materials
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to development teams, architects, and, where applicable, customers
- Team player with a willingness to work closely with backend, DevOps, and architecture teams
