Description
This position is for a District Manager in our southeast territory. This position is remote, and the candidate must live in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina or South Carolina.
The District Manager is responsible for the hiring, staffing, scheduling, and performance management of all remote field personnel within a district area to achieve and maintain all client expectations and standards. This position oversees a large team of remote based, part-time employees that represent top brands by completing client assigned continuity merchandising services, surge projects, and brand awareness activities in major retailers that sell pet products and consumer goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for training and development of remote part-time field staff to execute continuity work, surge work, retail projects and weekend events in retailer settings
- Direct supervisory responsibilities with as many as 100 remote field employees
- Manage appropriate scheduling and staffing of all retail accounts to ensure timely completion of client expectations and KPIs.
- Execute Client goals and objectives by effectively managing and directing field personnel, conducting store audits, and staffing all retail projects with the goal of executing on time with excellent control of expenses
- Ensure complete, accurate, and timely reports, recaps, timesheets, and expense reports are submitted daily
- Approve field team payroll hours, travel/mileage routing, and other expenses associated with assigned store visits daily
- Perform employee counseling, performance reviews and terminations as needed
- Collaborate with HR Recruiting Team to recruit and hire for open field positions
- Ensure CLA University training modules are completed in a timely manner
- Complete store visits in unstaffed stores when needed, perform in person training where possible, and attend mandatory company and client meetings when scheduled
- This position directly supervises other employees and has responsibility for hiring, training, developing, promoting, and terminating direct reports.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Prior supervisory experience managing large, remote teams strongly preferred
High School Diploma with college education and/or degree preferred. 4-6 years’ related experience and at least 2 years direct supervisory experience requiredAdvanced Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace skills desiredProven ability to work independently and supervise direct reports with confidencePlanning/organizing—the individual is a highly motivated self-starter who demonstrates effective time management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities seamlessly with heavy workload at timesAdaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected eventsOral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates strong group presentation skills and ability to conduct virtual meetingsWritten Communication—the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, and is able to read and interpret written information. Must have a clean driving record and minimum state mandated insurance coverage & liability limits.
